Big… Huge… Gigantic
Just how big is God?
Lately, it seems
that there are so many – too many – needy people out there.
Been
pondering: Everyone needs Jesus in some
way, in different degrees.
The current world population is 7.8
billion. (7,000,000,000) as of
January 2020. They all need Jesus.
The
number of people who first walked the Earth about 50,000 years ago until now is
more than 108 billion according to estimates
by Population Reference Bureau (PRB). They all needed Jesus.
So, how huge is God?
Isaiah
40:25+ says, ‘To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.’
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.’
The
Milky Way has about 300 billion stars.
Astronomers
estimate there are another 100 billion galaxies.
Think
about it: 100 billion galaxies, each
with 300 billion stars = 3,000,000,000,000,000,000.
And
what about all the planets, asteroids, comets, supernovas, pulsars, nebula and
meteors?
So, how gigantic is God?
The
Lord said, “That’s right! I AM a Huge…Gigantic
God! Come to Me. Seek Me.
Let Me fill you with My Light.”
Other
words for gigantic: enormous, massive, and
colossal
“I am all these things and more!”
While
contemplating all this, the Lord asked, “Where do you think the brightness of
the stars come from?”
And
yet…. And yet… He is in the tiniest of tiny!
That’s for another pondering.
